He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruit and grass - 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
