Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 watching over you 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
