VERILY, God does not forgive the ascribing of divinity to aught beside Him, although He forgives any lesser sin unto whomever He wills: for those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God have indeed gone far astray. 116 Rather than call upon Him, they call upon goddesses, and call upon a rebellious Satan 117 Whom Allah has cursed. For he had said, "I will surely take from among Your servants a specific portion. 118 And surely I will lead them astray, and surely I will arouse desires in them, and surely I will command them and they will cut the cattle' ears, and surely I will command them and they will change Allah's creation. Whoso chooseth Satan for a patron instead of Allah is verily a loser and his loss is manifest. 119 Whatever the promises he makes, whatever the desires he enkindles, and whatever the hopes Satan rouses in them, are no more than delusion. 120 These are they whose abode is hell, and they shall not find any refuge from it. 121 But as for those who believe and do good works We shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. It is a promise from Allah in truth; and who can be more truthful than Allah in utterance? 122 It is neither your fancies nor the fancies of the People of the Book which matter. Whoever does evil shall reap its consequence and will find none to be his protector and helper against Allah. 123 Whoever does good and believes -whether he is male or female - such shall enter the Garden, and they shall not be wronged in the slightest. 124 Who is better in faith than one who submits himself wholly to God, acts righteously, and follows the religion of Abraham, the upright in faith, whom God chose for a friend? 125 To God belongs all that the heavens and earth contain. God has knowledge of all things. 126
