Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Do not oppress the orphans 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
