The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
