Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
