Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
