The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
