Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
