And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
