Evidence (of the truth) for them is how We revived the dead earth 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They await not but one shout, which shall lay hold of them while they are yet wrangling. 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
