No, by the moon! 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
