The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
