The hypocrites, and those who had doubts in their hearts, said: "Their faith has misled them." But whoever places his trust in God will find God mighty and wise. 49 If thou couldst only see when the angels take the unbelievers, beating their faces and their backs: 'Taste the chastisement of the burning -- 50 “This is the recompense of what your own hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen.” 51 Their case is like that of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied the signs of Allah and so Allah seized them for their sins. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Stern in retribution. 52 This is because Allah would never change His favor that He bestowed upon a nation until they change what is in their hearts. Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 53 Like Pharaoh's folk, and the people before him, who cried lies to the signs of their Lord, so We destroyed them because of their sins, and We drowned the folk of Pharaoh; and all were evildoers. 54 For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe. 55 AS FOR THOSE with whom thou hast made a covenant, and who thereupon break their covenant on every occasion, not being conscious of God 56 If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember. 57 If you are afraid of the treachery of some of your allies, you may disregard your treaty with them. God does not love the treacherous ones. 58
