And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
