Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 We did not find many among them keeping their promises. However, We did find many evil-doers among them. 102 After the time of those people, We sent Moses with Our miracles to Pharaoh and his people, but they too rejected Our miracles. Consider, how terrible the end of the evil-doers is! 103 Moses said, 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being, 104 “It is obligatory for me not to speak concerning Allah except the truth; I have come to you all with a clear sign from your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with me.” 105 Said Firaun, “If you have come with a sign, then present it if you are truthful!” 106 Then (Moses) threw his rod, and behold! it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 107 Then he drew out his hand, and it appeared luminous to all beholders. 108
