The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
