Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
