The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
