The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
