Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In high empyrean 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
