The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 A written record, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
