Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 Who know what you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
