Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
