The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
