The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
