3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
