Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
