Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
