Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
