Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions lined up 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
