The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
