The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
