The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
