The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
