۞ And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. 23 And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small." 24 Your Lord is Well Aware of what is in your hearts; if you are worthy, then indeed He is Oft Forgiving for those who repent. 25 Give the relatives, the destitute and those who when on a journey have become needy, their dues. 26 Surely the squanderers are the fellows of the Shaitans and the Shaitan is ever ungrateful to his Lord. 27 but if, while waiting for your Lord's bounty which you are expecting, you turn them down, then at least speak to them kindly. 28 Make not thy hand tied (like a niggard's) to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach, so that thou become blameworthy and destitute. 29 Lo! thy Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will, and straiteneth (it for whom He will). Lo, He was ever Knower, Seer of His slaves. 30
