When you were overcome by sleep, as security from Him, He sent down water from the sky to cleanse you and to purify you of satan's filth, to strengthen your hearts and to steady your footsteps. 11 When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. 12 This is because they opposed Allah and His Noble Messenger; and whoever opposes Allah and His Noble Messenger – then indeed Allah’s punishment is severe. 13 'That for you, so taste it, the punishment of the Fire is for the unbelievers' 14 O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve, in a battle-field, never turn your backs to them. 15 (Whoever deserts the believers) will incur the wrath of God and will dwell in hell, a terrible dwelling. 16 You did not slay them, but God slew them; and when thou threwest, it was not thyself that threw, but God threw, and that He might confer on the believers a fair benefit; surely God is All-hearing, All-knowing. 17 That for you; and that God weakens the unbelievers' guile. 18 If you were seeking a victory, victory has now come to you. If you desist, it will be better for you. If you resume We will return, and even if your forces are numerous, they shall not help you at all. And Allah is with the believers. 19
