The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
