The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 By the House Frequented. 4 And the lofty roof. 5 And the swollen sea, 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, 11 such as play at plunging, 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
