The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
