The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
