Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
