Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
