The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 The rebels' abode, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
