Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
