The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
