The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
