Hast thou not regarded thy Lord, how He has stretched out the shadow? Had He willed, He would have made it still. Then We appointed the sun, to be a guide to it; 45 and then, [after having caused it to lengthen,] We draw it in towards Ourselves with a gradual drawing-in. 46 And it is He Who made the night a veil for you, and the sleep a rest, and made the day for getting up. 47 And it is He, Who drives the winds to be the harbingers of His mercy: then He sends down pure water from the sky 48 That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We had created. 49 We present the same phenomenon over and over again before them so that they may learn a lesson from it; but most people decline to adopt any other attitude than of disbelief and ingratitude. 50 Had it been Our will, We could have raised a warner in every village. 51 Se obey not thou the infidels, but strive against them therewith with a great striving. 52 ۞ It was He who let forth the two seas, this one is palatably sweet and this salt, a bitter taste, and He set a barrier between them, and a refuge which is forbidden. 53 And He it is Who has created man from the water, then He has made for him blood relationship and marriage relationship, and your Lord is powerful. 54 And they (disbelievers, polytheists, etc.) worship besides Allah, that which can neither profit them nor harm them, and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the Satan) against his Lord. 55 Yet We have not sent you but to give good tidings and to warn. 56 Proclaim, “I do not ask any fee from you for this, except that whoever wills may take the way to his Lord.” 57 And trust thou in the Living One Who dieth not, and hymn His praise. He sufficeth as the Knower of His bondmen's sins, 58 He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between, in six days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority): Allah Most Gracious: ask thou, then, about Him of any acquainted (with such things). 59 Yet when they [who are bent on denying the truth are told, "Prostrate yourselves before the Most Gracious" they are wont to ask, "And [who and] what is the Most Gracious? Are we to prostrate ourselves before whatever thou biddest us [to worship]?" - and so [thy call] but increases their aversion, ۩ 60
