Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
