And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
